With a solid presence through its offices in Spain, Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic, Sofistic has established itself as a strategic partner for financial institutions, critical infrastructure, and governments. The appointment of Málaga-born Mar López comes at a time of growing demand for resilient and adaptive cybersecurity solutions in the face of an ever-evolving threat landscape.

Leadership and Vision. 20 Years Transforming Cybersecurity
Mar López has built a solid career in the public sector holding strategic positions. Between 2012 and 2021, she served as the Head of the Office for Cybersecurity and the Fight Against Disinformation at the National Security Department of the Presidency of the Government.
During that same period, she was also Secretary of the National Cybersecurity Council, playing a key role in coordinating national digital security policies. She led initiatives such as the 2019 National Cybersecurity Strategy, the 2022 National Security Plan, and the launch of the National Cybersecurity Forum.
Over the past four years, she has worked as an Associate Director at Accenture, leading strategic cybersecurity projects for the public and healthcare sectors.
In July 2025, she joins Sofistic, the cybersecurity division of Grupo Cuatroochenta, as CEO to drive and accelerate the expansion of its service portfolio, strengthen its strategic alliances, and invest significantly in R&D to remain a pioneer.
She holds a degree in Business Administration and Management, along with several master’s degrees specializing in information security management, project management, and national defense studies. This multidisciplinary education has underpinned her strategic vision and leadership skills in complex, high-demand environments.
In addition, her career and professional excellence have been recognized with civil, naval, and aerospace merit decorations, as well as the Cyber Defense Medal.

She is currently Vice President of Woman4Cyber Spain, a European association that highlights the role of women in cybersecurity, co-founder of the Andalusian Women Cyber Leaders Forum, and Vice President of the Andalusian Cybersecurity Cluster, from where she drives regional cooperation and ecosystem development.
A regular speaker and internationally recognized figure in the sector, she maintains a strong commitment to awareness and knowledge sharing on cybersecurity, participating in various conferences and events.
