A large multidisciplinary festival devoted to culture, education and science. It is hold at the Omar Park, a green lung in the heart of Panama City, with free entry and an expectation of 80,000 attendees. Cuatroochenta is finalizing the development of app for the Festival Abierto, one of the most important cultural events of the year in Panama. It takes place from 22th to 23th March 2014 for its third edition, under the theme 'Culture is the ship'. This was the way it was made official at the presentation event last week, in which it was stated that the festival will have, as a central theme, the cultural enrichment that involved the construction of the Panama Canal for the Central American country, in the centenary year of its inauguration.
'The Festival Abierto celebrates the anniversary of the union of two seas and the resulting cultural exchanges; new bands, new artists, new foundations and new energy into the craft of education, science, culture and good vibes'. This way it is promoted by the campaign presented by PaqueArte Foundation president, Ana Melissa Correa, who was accompanied by the First Lady (Marta Linares de Martinelli) and the Mayor of Panama city (Roxana Mendez), among others. The ceremony was also attended by the CEO of Cuatroochenta, Alfredo R. Cebrian, and the General Manager of Cuatroochenta Latam, Cesar Tauste.
The Festival Abierto has confirmed the performance of Charles Bradley, an American Legend of soul music, among a host of activities for all ages that are arranged in a participatory way with a strong social and cultural character.Since its first edition in 2012, which attracted 10,000 visitors, the event has exponentially grown at all levels, as evidenced by the large list of first brands that sponsor and support it: LG, Movistar, Copa Airlines, La Prensa (Panama's leading newspaper), TVN (one of the main TV channels), Melo Industries or Rey Supermarkets.
Cuatroochenta, leveraging its expertise in developing apps for large musical events such as the Arenal Sound (the largest in attendees in 2013 in Spain) or Vina Rock, is developing an application that will serve to enhance the experience of attending the Festival, both previously and during the event, with all the elements and services for attendees to interact.
