The Spanish company opens a fully staffed facility in the Research Triangle Park in Raleigh/Durham and participates in the RSA Conference trade show to open up the market.

Cuatroochenta has started operating in the United States through the services of its cybersecurity unit, Sofistic. This technological company, an industry leader in Spain and Latin America, has acquired the 480 Sofistic Corporation based at the Research Triangle Park technological center in Raleigh, the North Carolina state capital. Sofistic has its own staff who pursue a defined strategy aimed at unlocking further market opportunities.

The Research Triangle Park is positioning itself as one of the leading research centers and cutting-edge companies in sectors including health care or biotech. 480 Sofistic Corporation established its headquarters in the Research Triangle Park in March 2021. As stated in its company directory, Sofistic is already prominent among the "Cybersecurity Companies Located in the Triangle", together with reference companies such as IBM, Microsoft or Red Hat.

The business opportunity in the North American market is evident in the very argument to present the cybersecurity companies of the Raleigh-Durham Park: “Cybercrime is up 600% since the COVID-19 pandemic. The excellent evolution of Cuatroochenta's cybersecurity services and products, both in Latin America and in Spain, is the best precedent: Sofistic's revenues doubled in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period of the previous year. A growth that is accompanied by a solid structure that already has more than 62 professionals distributed among the offices in Panama, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Spain and, from now on, the United States. To provide a first level service to financial entities, critical infrastructures and large companies, relying on its Security Operations Center (SOC) and strategic alliances with Darktrace, Crowdstrike or Exabeam.

The staff at Raleigh-Durham will be hand-picked and some will report directly to the CEO of Sofistic, Angel Lopez. One of our outstanding new managers is Shannon Scott, new Director of Business Development in USA, he has an extensive experience in sales management in the health sector, with a strategic focus on Cuatroochenta's entry in the North American market, with a focus on critical infrastructures and financial entities.

First customers and participation in fairs

And 480 Sofistic Corporation is already beginning to reap the first fruits: in May it closed the first projects. Commercial activity intensifies this June, with participation in two of the most important events in the security sector: the aforementioned RSA Conference in San Francisco and CELAES, the renowned Banking Security Conference held in Miami on June 20 and June 21, in which Sofistic is a sponsor and will do product demonstrations at its stand together with BeyondTrust and Exabeam.
